Thomas was born on July 29, 1939 in Wilmot, Arkansas to Fred McCain and Blanche (Tubbs) McCain.
Thomas “Tom” was raised with his family farming in Ashley County, Arkansas; he moved as a young adult to Midland, Texas where he met and married Lovetta Housden; they raised four kids. He owned several businesses, and after selling them he became a sales manager for Odessa Spring and Axle. He retired at the age of 82 for health reasons. He was an avid team roper. Most weekends and vacations were spent traveling “to go rope” at a roping or rodeo with his kids and friends. Thomas never met a stranger and made a friend out of every person he met. Thomas had a servant heart and would drop whatever he was doing to help someone in need. He will be missed by so many.
Thomas is survived by his four children: his son, Tommy McCain and his wife Sharon; his son, David McCain and his partner Janan Bost; his daughter, Pam Corbett and her husband David; his daughter, Pansy McElroy and her husband TC; his brother, J.L. McCain, Wilmot Arkansas; his grandchildren: Cody McCain; Kasey Ivanhoe and her husband Jared; McKensy Hoisager and her husband Josh; Thomas McElroy and his partner Shayden Sanders; Derian Bost and Taylor Bost; his great grandchildren: Corbin McCain, Cooper Chapman, Whitley Chapman, Brynlee Ivanhoe, Carter Hoisager, Sawyer Chapman, Cainen Ivanhoe, Quinn Hoisager and Holt Hoisager; several nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death and eternally reunited with his wife Lovetta McCain; his mother and father, Fred McCain and Blanche (Tubbs) McCain; his brothers, Jerry McCain and Floyd McCain; his granddaughter Hayley Corbett Chapman.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Ashton Lodge Rehab facility and their employees. They were wonderful and a handful went above and beyond by showing respect, care and understanding for our Dad and his illness, Salena, JC, Kris, Karla, Michele, Cara and so many more who cared for our Dad. His spiciness was met with love. Also a big thank you to Jennifer and Lucinda at Legacy Ranch.
