Thelma "Granny" Schafer, 91, of Big Spring, died on Monday, January 7, 2008, at the Home Hospice House in Odessa. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Chaplain Joe Torres with Home Hospice, officiating. She was born on November 7, 1916, in Manny, Louisiana and married John Wesley Schafer on June 10, 1933 in Westbrook, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 4, 1988.Thelma loved sewing and cooking and was an expert at making cobblers and pies. She adored her family, especially time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dawne and Mike Pearson and Mary Beth and Clay Ingram all of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Janette Schafer of Tuttle, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Cherry Furqueron and husband, Phillip of Big Spring, Craig Ingram and wife, Lisa of Big Spring, Renee Minton and husband, Dale of Oklahoma, Darrell Curry and wife, Michelle of San Antonio, Michael Schafer and wife, Pam of Oklahoma, Michelle Kidd and husband, Devry of Stanton, and Nicole Larcenaire and husband, Gary of El Paso; fourteen great grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the Home Hospice House, 903 N.
