Theda O. Broughton, of Big Spring went to be with her Lord and Savior, Monday, June 8, 2015, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Joey Bacon, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.She was born November 20, 1920 in Howard County to Elmer and Thelma Pyle Williams. She was a graduate of Coahoma High School and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She married J.W. (Buster) Broughton October 21, 1939. Buster and Theda lived and farmed in the Salem Community of Howard County from March 1948 until Buster passed away October 5, 1977.Theda worked in the office at several cotton gins for many years and later worked for Keaton and McCrary Cotton Company as office manager and bookkeeper, retiring in May 1980. She loved to travel and had been in all 50 states and to several foreign countries. She also enjoyed fishing and playing cards with friends and family.She is survived by two first cousins, Glen Jones and wife, Loanora and Marcille Taylor; nephews, Donald Long and wife, Shirley, Elbert Long and wife, Monohn, Bruce Broughton and wife, Tina and by several great nephews, nieces and second cousins.In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Williams; mother, Thelma Pyle Williams and one brother, J.R. Williams.Pallbearers will be Brad Long, Kyle Long, Caleb Long, Cameron Long, Caegan Long, Duane Rogers, Ronnie Wood and Gregg Newton.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
