Terry Lewis St. John, 77 of Midland, Texas, went to be with his Savior on November 1, 2025. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at his beloved Church, Sovereign Grace. (2901 W. Kansas Ave, Midland, TX 79701).
Terry was born on December 8, 1947, to Claude & Alta (Lewis) St. John in Midland, Texas. He was raised in Midland & married Judy Burge in 1968; they had three children together: Terry Wayne, Stephen & Skylyn.
Terry devoted his adult life to ministry, specifically dedicating himself to helping young men who were incarcerated find hope & purpose through a relationship with Jesus Christ. His commitment to guiding others to Christ during challenging times left a lasting impact on those he witnessed to. Terry had unwavering faith even during significant health challenges he battled during the last two years of his life.
Terry loved traveling & made every outing with family & friends an event to remember. The Big Bend National Park was his favorite spot where he guided river rafting & fishing adventures. He spent as much time as he could appreciating the beauty & adventure on the Rio. He was a Midland College Baseball “super-fan”, mentoring the team as he followed them throughout the seasons & their playoff journeys. Our sweet, endearing, entertaining & witty “Poppy” will be greatly missed.
Terry is survived by his children, Terry W. St. John (Keri), Stephen St. John & Skylyn St. John, his beloved grandchildren, Preston, Korwynn, Daniel, Dillon, Drew, Solese, Meris, Lawson, Ben, Delleanna & Ali, 10 great grandchildren, and nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his siblings: Claudia Peterman, Linda Albers, Michael St. John, Deborah St. John & Anthony St. John Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Church Body at Sovereign Grace for making sure Terry was at church every Sunday, the care & love you showed our dad will never be forgotten. Many thanks to all his friends who visited, prayed & took him to fellowship groups. Thank you to Hospice of Midland & the staff at MML who provided compassionate medical care.
