Terry Douglas Meeks, 72 years old, went to his heavenly home on Monday, February 16th. He was the last baby born in Big Spring, December 31, 1953, to Barbara Woodson Meeks, and Ross Darrow, who raised Terry and his sister Debbie. Terry graduated from Coahoma High School in 1972. He was an all-state football player.
He married Patti Lee on November 22, 1982, and they made their home in Big Spring, Texas. After 20 years in the oil field, where he made many treasured friendships, Terry went back to college and became a certified Radiologic Technologist. He worked for 20 years at the VA Medical Center, before his retirement in December of 2013.
Mr. Meeks is survived by his loving wife, Patti, three children: Amber (Jason) Henry, of Lubbock Texas, Todd (Brittany) Moland, Stephenville, Texas, and Justin (Beth) Meeks, Midland, Texas; grandchildren and greatgrandchildren; Kiersten (Somer) Jackson and their children Kamryn and Wyatt, Jacob (Jolee) Henry, Nethanial (Marisol) Henry and their son Luca, Breanna (Cayden Goodman) Moland, Charly Rae Meeks, and Tyler Moland; as well as his sister Debbie (Eddie) Minor; sister-in-laws Sheri (Ron) Lepard and Jana Lee, mother-in-law Myrtie Lee, and several nieces and nephews.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Jason Minor, and father-in-law D.C. Lee.
The family will receive friends Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 1:00 pm-2:00 pm with funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Coahoma Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers: Bill Lewis, Stanley Philips, Bruce Strickland, Donnie Buchanan, Casey Carpenter and Terry Denton.
