Teresa Thomas, age 68 of Big Spring passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. Teresa Thomas was born October 17, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas and married Randy Thomas September 12, 1975 in Big Spring, Texas.
Teresa worked for Howard County for 38 years retiring as county treasurer, October 2017. During her life she found a love of many things, including taxidermy, house flipping, arts and crafts, gardening, piano, traveling, cooking, country dancing, animals, and gospel music.
Teresa was a lifelong member of the Big Spring First Church of the Nazarene where she sang in the choir, painted scenes for the nativity and murals in classrooms. She was also an active member of the Permian Basin Dance Club. As a teenager she sang with the traveling Gospelettes. She never liked to be the center of attention but was always involved behind the scenes. Family time was very important to her and she enjoyed any family gathering. The happiest day of her life was the day Trent was born.
Teresa is survived by her son Trent and wife Ashley Thomas; sisters, Karen Fulton and Tammye and her husband Joe Chaney; nephews, Garrett and wife Kaite Fulton and children, Tyler and wife Katie Fulton and children; and mother-in-law, Lois Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Randy Thomas; her parents Bob and Gerry Spears; as well as her father-in-law Alva Thomas and brother-in-law Don Fulton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, April 23rd, 2022 at the First Church of the Nazarene. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Fulton, Garrett Fulton, Trent Thomas, Dylan Weaver, Jason Guevara, Joe Chaney and Mario Crews. Honorary pallbearers will be Taylor Robertson and David Bagnall.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Big Spring First Church of the Nazarene.
