Teresa Lou Shumskie (née Glasgow), born on May 2, 1955, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on October 9, 2024, at the age of 69, in Midland, Texas. Teresa was a cherished member of her community, known for her devotion to her family and numerous charitable organizations. She was a member of the Junior Women’s Association and the Junior League of Midland, where she made significant contributions through her volunteer work. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing at Greentree Country Club. Teresa loved the sun and spent many days at the beach and lake with family and good friends.
Teresa was a proud supporter of Oklahoma State, which shaped much of her early adult life and instilled in her a lifelong passion for learning and community service. Her caring and nurturing nature was evident to all who knew her, making her a wonderful, caring, and devoted mother, sister, cousin, and friend.
She leaves behind her sons, Tyler Shumskie of Midland and Wesley Shumskie, along with his wife Haylee, of Texas City; her brother, Terry Glasgow of Houston; nephews Marshal Glasgow with his wife Kelley and daughter Linnon of Austin, and Matthew Glasgow of Salt Lake City, Utah; and cousin Jennie Small of Woodward, Oklahoma. Her passing was preceded by her father Wayne Glasgow, mother Mary Glasgow, sister-in-law Janet Glasgow, and cousins Jeanette Atha and Lisa Boler. Teresa’s passing leaves a void in the lives of her family and all who knew her.
Services to honor Teresa’s life are being handled by Nalley-Pickle Welch in Midland, Texas. At a later date there will be a burial in Dacoma, Oklahoma with family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to your charity of choice in remembrance of Teresa. Her legacy of kindness and dedication to her community will continue to inspire those who knew her.
