Ted Fowler, 86, of Estelline, Texas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. He was born on May 1, 1936, in Estelline, Texas, to the late Lloyd and Edith Fowler.
Ted was preceded in death by his two brothers Dudie and Kent Fowler and sister Jo Hickie of Amarillo, Texas. He is survived by his oldest brother Gale Fowler, also of Amarillo. He is survived by his loving wife Sylvia Fowler of Crane, Texas, who he was married to for 62 years, and daughter Julie Smith and grandson Cooper Smith of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Ted attended both the University of Texas, El Paso and Oklahoma State University earning degrees in Geology, Hydrology and Metallurgy. He worked in the oil business in Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado. He began his career with Great Western Oil Company in Midland, Texas and went on to be President of Seneca Oil Company in Oklahoma City for 12 years. He spent his final 27 years as a consulting Geologist in Midland, Texas working for Seaboard Oil Company and Blaze Services, all of whom were very special colleagues and family friends. Ted and Sylvia were members of First Baptist Church and loved their church family and many friends in Texas and Oklahoma.
Ted was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was one of a kind, gentle and caring person who always put others before himself. Ted will be deeply missed by his wife whom he was married to for 62 years, daughter and grandson but his kind heart and wonderful spirit will live on in the memories we all have of him.
The family will receive guests on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service will be held at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
