Ted Helwig, 77 of San Angelo, died on Thursday, December 26, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Rev. James Berry pastor of Kelview Heights Baptist Church, officiating. He was born on January 14, 1925, in Ranger, Texas.He served in the United States Army during WWII and attended school in Sterling City and in the Schertz Community. He operated a service station in Midland for Premier Oil Company and also in San Angelo. Later he drove a truck for Slurlock Oil Company until he retired in 1994. Survivors include; three daughters and one son in law; Patsy Lennon of Plano, Texas, Linda Buckalew of Levelland, Texas, and Beverly & Rolan Wallace of Midland, Texas, one step son; John Paul Lee of San Angelo, Texas, three brothers; Edgar Helwig of St. Lawrence, Texas, Walter Helwig of Big Lake, Texas, Marvin Helwig of Colorado Springs, Colorado He was preceded in death by his sister and his parents.Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Midland, 911 W.
