Tammy D. Ream, of Midland, went to be with her Heavenly Father a short three weeks after her thirty-ninth birthday. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 28, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, 300 N. Main in Midland with John Rech, Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating.She was born January 6, 1969 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Patricia McCain and Billy Goines. In 1987, Tammy graduated from Alvin High School. She attended Howard College and UT Southwestern Medical School of Allied Health where she graduated in 1992 as a certified Physician Assistant. In 2001, she earned a Masters degree in P.A. Studies from the University of Nebraska.Tammy was the Associate Director at the Texas Tech University School of Allied Health Services Physician Assistant Program located in Midland, Texas. Tammy taught and graduated approximately 240 P. A. s during her career at Texas Tech. She met her future husband, Stacey, while attending Howard College, they married on May 23, 1992, in Big Spring, Texas. No two people have ever been more in love. She was a member of several organizations including Relay for Life, Girl Scouts of America, Texas Academy of Physicians Assistants and the American Academy of Physician' s Assistants. She was also President Elect of TAPA to have taken office in February. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Midland.She is survived by her husband, Stacey Ream; children, Forrest age 11 and Reagan age 8 of Midland; mother, Tricia McCain; aunt, Shirleen Brown of Big Spring; great-aunt, Jean of Big Spring; cousins, David Brown of Ohio, Larry Lowry of Lewisville, JW Heath of Vernon; adoptive father, Chet Dowdell. Parents-in-law, Roddy and Jann Caffey of Big Spring and Jim and Marilyn Ream of Ft. Worth; sister-in-law, Kori Caffey of Baton Rouge, LA and Jaime Bennett; grandparents, Dean and JoAnne Forrest of Big Spring, Robert and Patti Caffey of San Angelo; and a host of student medical professionals all over the state. She is preceded in death by her father Billy Goines, Aunt Gayla Lowry Bosareel, grandparents AL & Colleen Lowry, Uncle Rodney Lowry and stepfather Herb McCain.Family requests memorials be directed to Texas Tech University Health Science Center PA Program, 3600 N. My granddaughter told me a little boy at her school was absent because his mother died and I was so sad for him. I later learned this little boy was Forrest, the precious grandchild Trish had spoken about often many years ago. I am so sorry for the pain and sadness you all are feeling. Trish, my heart goes out to you as a mom and I can't begin to imagine your pain. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as only the comfort of God can carry you through.

We are truly sorry to hear of this great loss. May the lord bless all of you during this trying time.

As Scott and I learned about Tammy, my first thoughts went back to the times when she was pregnant and how breathtakingly beautiful she was each time. I know it was her joy of having the babies that showed through. We had such a good time in the early years of our Sunday School class and also the Rotary trips, like the convention in Ruidosa and so many of us stayed in the condo together. We were blessed to know her and know she has left a legacy. God Bless.

This is a tremendous loss to our profession. Tammy was always a fair teacher. She is the glue that held that program together. Always objective and sensible. She later became my friend as I started to practice medicine. She was and still is quite the lady....classy. We will miss this fine human being that brought some much to the table. Mrs Ream was the most caring and passionate ladies i have met. She helped me in so many ways. She helped me to deal with my own mother's battle with breast cancer. She always greeted you with a smile and welcomed you with open arms. She offered wonderful advise and was always optimistic. I will never forget the advise she gave me. She helped me survive PA school. She was truely an amazing individual. I am deeply saddened by her loss. I send my prayers to her family and may god watch over you as you survive this trying time.

My sister was my best friend. I loved her dearly. I am going to miss you so much. I love. Jennifer

Tammy was an amazing person. We will be praying for Stacey and the children, and all others blessed to have known her. The loss of one so young and special seems unfair until you consider the reward she now receives in the arms of the Lord. The world is a better place because she was here.

Mrs. Ream was an integral part of my success in becoming a PA. Her dedication and passion for the profession gave our class the desire to get involved in our professional associations. She was a very important team member in the TTHSC PA faculty and she will be greatly missed. My prayers go out to her family and close friends.

To hear the love and see the joy in Stacey's face when he spoke of Tammy told everyone around him just how much she meant to him, their children and their families. I as well as others are so shocked. I know that Tammy will be missed and there aren't enough words to express how much my heart goes out to you. Stacey, you and the children will be in my prayers.

Words cannot describe the sadness I feel inside for the loss of my peer, fellow TAPA BOD member, and friend. This comes as such a shock to all of us that knew and worked with Tammy. She was such a bright spot on the TAPA BOD and I was really looking forward to her being our incoming President. What soothes and calms me is I know she is in a much better place than I am. I'm sorry just doesn't seem like enough, but it's really all I can say at a time like this. Tammy was a great person and a wonderful mother. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. This has been such a huge shock and it's hard for me to believe that I'm actually typing this. Just remember to lean on each other through this and have faith that there will be light at the end of the tunnel someday. I love you all and pray that your pain will lessen as time goes on.

I AM IN SUCH SHOCK AS WE ALL ARE. I MAY NOT HAVE SEEN HER MUCH LATELY, BUT I LOOKED FORWARD TO THE CHRISTMAS CARDS EVERY YEAR SO I COULD SEE HOW THE KIDS HAD GROWN. SHE WAS ONE OF MY DEAREST FRIENDS-- THE KIND OF FRIEND THAT WE COULD PICK UP OUR FRIENDSHIP YEARS LATER AS IF NO TIME HAD PASSED. I REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES SHE TOOK ME TO THE STORE AT BAYLOR OR INVITED ME OVER FOR DINNER IN DALLAS. I REMEMBER HOW SHE AND I WOULD SHARE STORIES LATE AT NIGHT AND HOW SHE WOULD PUT UP WITH ME BEING LATE AND HOW SHE LOVED ME ANYWAY. SHE WAS AN ANGEL OF A FRIEND WHILE SHE WAS WITH US. MY PRAYERS ARE FOR GOD'S STRENGTH TO CARRY STACEY, FORREST AND REAGAN THROUGH THIS TOUGH TIME. REMEMBER, THE WONDERFUL TIMES AND THE THINGS SHE WOULD GET UPSET WITH YOU FOR. REMEMBER, HOW DRIVEN SHE WAS, BUT HOW FAMILY-- YOU ALL-- WAS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF HER LIFE. Words cannot express our shock and sadness at the loss of Tammy. She was one of the sweetest, most genuine persons we have ever known. Giving beyond giving--that was Tammy. Our heartfelt prayers go out to Stacey, Forrest and Reagan. May the Lord's peace be with you.

We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Tammy. She was a definite ray of sunshine in the lives of many. She will be greatly missed.

Tammy was our very first PA at Family Medical Center of Monahans in 1993 when she graduated from PA school and went to her first job. She was always a joy to work with and a beautiful person to know. IT was a shock to hear of her sudden illness. We am sending condolences to Stacey and family on behalf of all the practitioners and employees here at Family Medical Center. Gina Farrell and Jessica Whaley will represent us at the memorial service.
