Syble Tanner, age 80, of Midland, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, April 2, 2005. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2005 at 11 A.M. at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Midland, with Reverend Sherry Holloman, Associate Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 from 6 until 8 P.M. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St. in Midland.Syble was born on May 18, 1924 in Shelbyville, Texas, a daughter to the late Bishop and Claudia Andrews. She was raised in Oklahoma and graduated from Wellston High School in 1942. She had worked at Tinker Air Force Base during WWII. Syble met and married Ashby David "Bud" Tanner on August 4, 1950 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She gave birth to two sons and was a very loving wife, mother, and later, grandmother. The family moved to Midland in 1966. For a large part of her life, she was a homemaker, returning to work outside the home after the death of Bud in 1976. Syble had worked for Midland Independent School District, Permian Basin Petroleum Association, and during all of these jobs, she continued to work as a bookkeeper at Trinity Presbyterian Church where she has held membership since 1966. Syble was a wonderful seamstress, and participated weekly with a group known as "The Wild Old Women and the Sew & Sews" at Trinity Presbyterian. She loved and enjoyed the fellowship with these women.Surviving Syble are two sons: Paul and wife Donna Tanner of Tom Bean, TX, David and wife Denise Tanner of Midland, TX., four grandchildren, Jonathan and Kirk Tanner, and Nicole and Danielle Barnett, and a sister-in-law: Theresa Andrews of Auburn, Washington.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud, and her brother, Sylvan Andrews.The family suggests memorials to Home Hospice, 901 W.
