Suzanne C. Mahon, 81, of Tyler, formerly of Big Spring, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Sunday, September 13, 2026 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, Big Spring, TX. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, September 14, 2026, at Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Ben Wheeler, officiating.
Suzanne was born September 2, 1945 to parents Robert Jackson Cook and Jean Jackson Cook in Big Spring, Texas. She loved playing the piano, snow skiing, and crappie fishing….usually at Oak Creek Lake. She was equal parts West Texas grit, East Texas kindness, and the beauty of Southern Arizona. She was a fiercely dedicated teacher and guidance counselor in Texas, and head principal for many years at the largest high school in Southern Arizona. Suzanne returned to Texas after finishing her education career in Arizona and enjoyed retirement alongside her two kids and eight grandchildren. She took pride in creating memories around the holidays and consistently shared her faith and joy with us all.
She is survived by her children Kelley Smith (Russell) and Chandler Ross Conner (Stacy); grandchildren Conner Bryant Smith, Abigail Grace Smith, Jackson Christopher Conner, Trenton Teaver Conner, Raina Belle Conner, Ellie Rose Conner, Jonah Ross Conner and Henry Cole Conner; one great grandchild Colton Teaver Conner (Peoni) and her nephew Banning Sweatland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Jacquelyn Stacey.
