Susie Thornton Holt, 89, of Midland, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2013.She was born on September 16, 1923 to Otis and Nellie Thornton in Chillicothe, TX.Susie was a hard worker who spent much of her life working as a meat wrapper. In more recent years, Susie enjoyed going to garage sales in search of hidden treasures and waking early to read the newspaper. She had a passion for collecting Jewel Tea, a hobby in which she shared with other family members. Susie was a loving mother and grandmother and she will continue to be loved and missed by many. She is survived by her 5 sons, Marty and Wylene Holt of Midland; Jimmy Holt of Stanton; Gearry and Linda S. Holt of Midland; Eddy and Linda B. Holt of Midland; and Lennie and Bonnie Holt of Midland; daughter, Rita and Bill Moffit of Midland; two sisters, Nell Thornton and Theda Perez both of Big Spring; and one brother, Otis Thornton Jr. of Big Spring; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
