Bette Susie Power, 80, of Camp Wood went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at Midland Memorial Hospital.Susie was born on December 4, 1931 to Roy and Faye Stewart in Abilene, TX. She lived in the Hendricks Home for Children from the 6th grade until she graduated high school. She married Rex Power on September 27, 1954 in Abilene. They made their home in Midland until retirement in 1983 when they moved to their ranch in Camp Wood. Susie was a very caring and loving person. Her family was her everything and she supported her children and her grandchildren in everything they were involved in. She was a prayer warrior that taught her children how to have a personal relationship with her Lord Savior. Susies caring spirit extended to those of the communities and was felt by everyone she encountered for she never met a stranger. She volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels in Midland and involvement with the young children on Wednesday night Church classes in Camp Wood. Susie was an excellent cook and loved sharing recipes. The Chinese dish and nanas Hot Sauce were many wonderful recipes that she enjoyed cooking for those that came to visit, but there were a few secrets to her cooking that many were aware of, her unique added touch of love to make each meal special. Through her giving spirit, witty humor, and casually dropped comments such as sit on it and its good for your soul she brought smiles to many that knew her or encountered her in everyday life.
