Susanna Griffin, 75, of Midland passed away on Friday surrounded by her children at her residence in Midland. Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 pm on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Mid-Cities Community Church with Pastors Daniel Stephens and Mickey Eckles officiating. Private family burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 6, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.She was born March 23, 1938 in Pittsburgh, KS to W.L. and Edith Riley Swearngin. Susanna was a homemaker and made her family her life. She enjoyed tennis, cooking, the outdoors, crafts, and painting. During her free time she volunteered for various organizations. She was a life long member of Beta Sigma Phi. Susanna owned a bookstore in Nortbrook, IL and a restaurant in Sedona, AZ. She loved the Lord and called Mid-Cities her church home. She was very generous with her time and was a very giving woman. She centered her life around her five children, and was adored by them. Her grandchildren knew her as Grammy and her nieces and nephews called her Aunt Sanna, but to her children was just Mama. She was loved by everyone who she met.She is survived by three daughters, Lisa Griffin Lasseter of Kyle, TX, Sheri Griffin-Fox of Midland and Leslie Kay Griffin and fiance, Redge Friday also of Midland; two sons, Eric David Griffin and wife Kim of Midland and Judson Chip Henderson Griffin of Oak Hill, FL; grandchildren, Ashlee Fox Cinaroglu and husband Binkan of San Antonio, Jacob Fox of McAllen, Dylan Fox of San Antonio, McKenzie Griffin, Delanie Griffin and Gunnar Griffin of Midland and Gabrielle Griffin of Dayton Beach, FL; sisters, Sherry McBride of Lawrence, KS and Kristie Swearngin of Overland Park, KS; brother, John Swearingin and wife Sherry of Fish Creek, WI; many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. She is also survived by the father of her children, David G.
