Jim, Bryan, Ash and family, My thought, love and prayers will continue to be with you. I was so sorry to hear about Susan. Sorry I couldn’t be there but I did livestream. Her memorial was so special. Not a tear jerker but how God loving she was, as well as such a fun loving happy soul. May the good Lord continue to bless all of you with comfort and peace in the days ahead. As you know, you were so blessed to have her as a wife, mom, GG, sister and all of us as a friend. Nancy Hodnett Graves

A truly amazing lady in every sense of the word. She was as big and bright as the colors she wore. That was her personality. We had many great times together, drank a lot of coffee discussing current topics and life. She was a very bright star and will be missed. Our condolences to Jim and the family. I know she will always be in your thoughts. Ours too.

Mrs. Alexander was such a bubbly, bright woman! I'll always remember all of her different glasses. I really don't think she ever wore the same pair twice LOL!! Prayers for Ashley, Justin, Jim and family.

Sending sincere condolences to the family. Susan was a friend to us and introduced us to the joys of “Greater Tuna”. She and Jim were steady fixtures in Big Spring. She was generous and kind and is remembered fondly. Praying for Jim and their children and grandchildren.

Susan and Jim were two special people to me. Susan agreed to stay with and take care of my three daughters during the summer of 1975 for a week. The girls were nine, eleven, and twelve at the time and were a handful. We also had a dog that had gotten too close to a porcupine and had many quills to show for it. Susan knew how to cope with the girls and the dog. She and her husband as well as her parents will always have a special place in my heart!

I was so sorry to hear about Susan. She was one of my favorite people at Forsan and occasionally our paths would cross at UT and I attended a party or two at her and her roomates' apartment in Austin. Those were good times that I will never forget. My sincerest sympathies go out to my old friend Jim and to his and Susan's extended family. Donnie Simpson

I have so many memories of Susan I don’t know where to begin. I loved working with her. She critiqued my writing and speeches. She gave me a Willow Tree Angel, but first painted the rose yellow because those are my favorites. She loved her kid unconditionally. She told me once if she had know how much fun teenagers were she would have had them first. I could go on and on but don’t know how many characters I get. I am giving a 75th birthday party for a friend with no family and must be in El Paso on Friday. I will miss visitation for a mission trip meeting Thursday evening. I know she would understand. I love you guys and treasure the moments and hours we spent together. Your mom carried the light of Jesus wherever she went. I was blessed to call her friend. A couple of weeks ago my Christmas card was returned. Said the address was wrong. So sorry I did not get to touch bases with her. Please know that you are all in my prayers.

My husband and I had the honor to meet and speak to Susan once, though we waved to each other all the time when both she and Jim drove by our house. One day, we were walking our puppies, Loki and Kilo by their house. Susan rolled down her window and had the biggest smile and introduced herself. She said she really wanted to meet us and the puppies since we always said hello to each other from a far. Reading about her today, I think we would have had a lot to talk about and got a long real well. Sometimes our lives get so busy that we miss out on so much - such as spending time with wonderful people! Our thoughts and prayers are with Jim and his family during this very difficult time.
