Sue Ann Becraft passed away August 3, 2024, in Cowden Cottage, Manor Park, Midland, Texas.
Susie was born July 23, 1945, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to John and Irene Becraft. She graduated from Liberty High School, Liberty, Missouri, and attended William Jewel College there. She also studied at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Midland College.
Susie was a very strong lady living for 60 years with the effects of a stroke suffered at age 19. These disabilities did not deter her from work, a lifetime of volunteer service, and travel.
Susie served at the reception/information desk at Midland International Airport for 10 years and was honored as a “STAR” volunteer by the Midland Convention Visitors Bureau in 2010. Susie also served as a receptionist at the evening meetings of the Midland City Council. She was proud of “outlasting” a number of mayors and council members. Susie was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Midland.
Col. Becraft volunteered for many years with the Commemorative Air Force receiving its Silver Magnolia Blossom award in 2001 and later honored for her service as High Sky Wing librarian. “Airsho” was her favorite time.
Susie is survived by brother Joe Becraft and wife Sandi of Horseshoe Bay, Texas; nephew John Becraft and wife Heather of North Richland Hills, Texas; niece Malinda Mills and husband Jody of Havre, Montana; great nieces Addison and Emma Becraft; and great nephew Tristan Mills.
