Stewart L. "Andy" Anderson, 74, of Big Spring, died on Monday, July 17, 2006, in the Veteran's Administration Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with the Rev. Clydell Chapman, pastor of Northside Baptist Church, Odessa, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.He was born on January 25, 1932, in Kirby, Wyoming to Albin and Harriett Anderson. He married Sharon Kirkpatrick on September 3, 1959 in Casper, Wyoming. She preceded him in death on August 4, 1999.Stewart served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He then returned to Wyoming and worked for Conoco. He came to Big Spring in 1965 with Conoco and made this his home. He retired in 1985. He helped coach in the National Leage for the Yankees baseball team for several years. He helped in the building of the National League Ball Park. His other great love was helping his son, John, with his race car and attending the races. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.Survivors include two sons, John Anderson, of Big Spring, and James "Jim" Anderson and daughter-in-law Ronda Anderson, of Cypress, Texas; one daughter, Colleen Barton and son-in-law, Mike, of Big Spring. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Lindsey Barton of Big Spring; three grandsons, Tyler Anderson, Philip Anderson, and Calvin Anderson, all of Cypress, Texas; one sister, Rose Dye; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, three brothers, and one infant.Pallbearers will be Bert Hillger, Jimmy Stewart, Rick Dominguez, Ed Meiser, Gaylon Knowlton, and Gary Prater.The family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association of Texas, P.O.
