Steven L. Acrey Pee Wee passed away at his residence on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, in Midland. Memorial services will be scheduled on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 1:00PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Pastor Donnie Rollie, officiating. Pee Wee, as his friends and family know him, was born in Wichita Falls, TX to Thomas Sr. and Katie Acrey. Pee Wee was a loving, supportive, and dedicated; son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He worked for The Petroleum Club of Midland for 12 years alongside his father and brothers; also The Racquet Club for 20 + years where he loved to bring smiles and joy through his cooking. He loved the outdoors and having the gentle breeze on his face, spending time with his family laughing and joking about the good old days. In his last and final days although Pee Wee couldnt do much, he watched out for all who knew him. Family, friends and life was everything to him, and he expresses that every day. Your work here is done we will always love you. Steven is survived by his parents, Thomas Sr. and Katie Acrey of Midland; sisters, Tanisha Morrow (husband Curtis Morrow) and Antiqua Cocoa Acrey of Midland; brothers, Thomas Jr. and Michael Acrey (wife Angela Acrey) of Midland; and 3 daughters, Stacy and Bianka Acrey and Precilla Montes of Midland; 4 nephews, and 6 nieces, all whom he loved dearly. We would like to thank Midland Memorial Hospital, Hospice of Midland, Midland Reporter Telegram and a warm and special, special thanks to Our Nurse Angie Nall/ Our Angel.Pee Wee wanted the family to please express the harm and use of alcohol, and tobacco. Dont do it! I thought I was young and invincible, the media, and even your friends will lie to you. Alcohol and Tobacco kills! This little fellow Steven age of 11 along with his brother Michel taught me how to play Chess at age 28. Its just amazing the patience kids can give. Remember kids can teach us things that we don't know. I will be eternally grateful for Steven's life here on earth until we meet again. Get that Chess board out Steven I will be their someday.

Pee Wee I love you and know that you are in a better place and that one day I will see you again. You are more then just a friend you are a brother to me and that will never change. I will miss driving by the house and seeing that smile and you waving at me. Much Love always Arcala Hopes

Man..where to start...Words can't convey the sadness I'm feeling right now. Wasn't just another person I went to school with Steve was a true friend. Had many talks when everyone else was playing ball and even then, always gave great advice and lots of laughter. I will truly miss him and offer my sincere prayers and condolences for the entire family. Ever need me, call and I'm there.
