Stephanie Collins, 42, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 in Odessa. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, June 20, 2008 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Larry Hood, officiating.Stephanie was born December 14, 1965, to Betty and Melvin Gentry in Chula Vista, California. She graduated from Reagan County High School. She married Michael John Collins on February 14, 1986 in Big Lake, Texas. She moved to Midland in 1993. She worked as an office manager at America West Energy Group for 15 years. Stephanie loved the outdoors, dogs, Frio River and camping.Survivors include parents, Melvin and Betty Gentry of Stanley, North Carolina; son, Derek Collins of Midland; daughter, Kirsten Collins of Midland; daughter, Katelyn Collins of Midland; brother, Mark Gentry of Jarrell; and granddaughter, Brooklynn Collins of Midland. She was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Gentry.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. I went to high school with Stephanie. We went on many speech trips together, and Kelli Starnes and I hung out with her. Later in life, we hung out at the softball fields with all our babies playing in the dirt. She was always happy when I knew her. She will be greatly missed. She was much to young to die.
