Starlie Odean Shaw

Starlie Odean Shaw passed away peacefully at the age of 78 in Lubbock, Texas on January 18, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones.

A visitation will begin at 1:00 PM  January 28, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel in Big Spring, Texas; services will begin at 2:00 with interment to follow at 3:00 in Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas.

Starlie was born on December 23, 1947 to Odie and Lahoma Trotter in Crane, Texas.

Her family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where she attended Hobbs High School. Growing up she enjoyed horse riding and rodeo. In 1964 Starlie married her first husband Harold D Bryant. They had four children Don, Annette (passed at birth), Chris, and Stephen.

In 1988 she met and married Franklin Shaw and they moved to Seminole, Texas, where they blended their families, and were blessed to have 36 loving years together.  Starlie loved his four children as her own, as Frank loved hers.

She worked at Seminole Service Gin for 20 years. Starlie and Frank were longtime members of South Seminole Baptist Church. They very much enjoyed the Shaw family reunions and Seminole Trade Days.  She loved crafting, crocheting and spending time with family.

Starlie is survived by her sons, Don Bryant and wife Donna, Chris Bryant and wife Twyla, Stephen Bryant and wife Sherrie, Bryan Shaw and wife Dana, Helaine Hamline and husband Phillip, her sister Karren Teague and husband Eddie, and her grandchildren Casey Bryant, Megan Goetz, Shayla Bryant, Amanda Bryant, Dallas Hopper, Starr Reis, Aaron Shaw, Morgan Shaw, David Hamline, Daniel Hamline, Andrew Hamline, Matthew Hamline, Garrett Shaw, Leah Shaw. And several great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Starlie is proceeded in death by her loving husband Franklin Shaw, her parents Odie and Lahoma Trotter, her daughter Annette, her brothers Carrol Trotter, Kenneth Trotter, and Charles Trotter, son Summerfield Shaw and daughter Cynthia Shaw.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews, Texas, and the palliative care team at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Casey Bryant, Ross Goetz, Kevin Griffin, Brad Hindman, and Kurt Hollis.
