Stanley Hasek, 69, of Midland, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on August 13, 2005 at Midland Memorial Hospital. A private family memorial service, honoring his life, will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2005 with Rev. John Rech, associate pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Mr. Hasek was born on May 26, 1936 in Kladno, Czechoslovakia, where he earned a PhD in Chemistry from a University in Prague. He married the love of his life, Agnes Cisarova on August 20, 1960. They left Czechoslovakia and moved to the United States in 1969 to escape Communism and start a new life of freedom. They moved to Midland from Chicago in 1976 to start a motel business that still continues to this day. His hobbies included baking his famous chocolate cake, watching sports, reading his newspaper, following the stock market and loving his dog, Shelby. He loved traveling to Las Vegas and playing his favorite game, roulette and especially loved eating his favorite czech foods cooked by his wife. He was a great man who will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Survivors include wife, Agnes Hasek of Midland;two daughters & sons-in-law, Renata and Curtis Leonard of Midland, and Michaela and Brandon Epes of Richardson; seven grandchildren, Bryan Leonard, Patrick Leonard, Michael Leonard all of Midland, Jay Leonard of Ft Worth, Caitlyn Epes, Jackson Epes , and Logan Epes all of Richardson, He was preceded in death by his parents.
