Staci J. Hoban, 60, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2017 in Dallas, TX, surrounded by her family. Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Stonegate Fellowship.Staci was born on September 23, 1957 in Portsmouth, VA, to Erma Jean and Kenneth Bradshaw. The first years of her life were spent living throughout the United States. As a proud \military brat\ she lived in California, Alaska, Virginia, and North Carolina and spent most of her teenage years in El Paso, Texas, graduating from Burges High School in El Paso. After high school, Staci attended college at the University of Texas at El Paso. It was also in El Paso where Staci met the love of her life, Kris. The couple was set up on a blind date by their siblings. It was the beginning of a loving partnership, December 17th of this year would have marked their 40 year anniversary. As her devoted caregiver, Kris never left her side throughout her yearlong battle with leukemia. Staci ultimately defeated the leukemia! Victory! The rigorous battle left her body weary but her spirit never wavered.Staci's greatest gifts to her sons were how to work hard and sacrifice. Her daughters-in-law admired her strong working mom mentality. Staci was a very dedicated and loyal employee. As the 9th employee of Concho, she was part of the creation of the Concho culture. She was extremely proud to work for an organization that shared her values. Her personality and willingness to help both professionally and personally made Staci a very valued and well respected employee. Staci was employed by Concho for over 19 years. The last position she held at Concho was Senior Accounting Manager. Prior to Concho, Staci's employment included Pioneer Natural Resources, H.L. Brown, Jr., and Troy's Electric in Hobbs, NM.Staci served as President of the Petroleum Accountants Society of the Permian Basin in 2010-2011. Throughout her life, Staci dedicated many volunteer hours to the Bike MS: Cactus and Crude Ride, American Cancer Society and felt a great importance to donate blood for the United Blood Services.Staci also made time for fun. She enjoyed drinking coffee on the patio at the family's lake house. She loved to garden, was an excellent card player and she loved to travel with her Cruisin' Buddies. She enjoyed taking the family on adventures and to always experience something new. She always found something new for her and her best friend Hannah (her granddaughter) to experience. \Let’s take the scenic route home\ as she would always say.The family wishes to thank Concho and the Midland County Sheriff's Department who provided compassion, love and support during this difficult time. Special love and gratitude go to Dr. Berryman, and all the oncology nurses and staff of the Baylor T. Boone Pickens Cancer Hospital of Dallas. To all the family and friends who made numerous visits and stayed at Kris and Staci's side, sent cards, letters and calls, Staci and Kris greatly appreciated all the love and concern. She was overwhelmed with the amount of love she received. She was lifted in prayer each and every day. And for all the strangers that would just pray for her, she was so touched.Although she was not a big proponent of formal religion, Staci lived a devout, faithful and spiritual life. The family takes comfort in knowing she is sharing heaven with her beloved mother and brother, Erma Jean and Hollis Bradshaw. She is survived by her husband Kris Hoban of Midland, TX; her father Ken Bradshaw of Alamogordo, NM; her sister Renee McAlister (David Lujan) of Ruidoso, NM; her sister, Mary Hamill (Jason) of Kermit, TX; her brother, Kevin Bradshaw (Kristi) of San Antonio, TX; sister-in-law, Christine Bradshaw of Chippewa Falls, WI; and sons, Lyle Hoban (Helga) and Chad Hoban (Caroline) of Midland, TX. As the center of her world, she cherished her beloved grandchildren Wesley, Hannah and Preston Hoban. She was extremely proud of all of them and spent her free time attending Wesley and Hannah's many sporting events and cheering them on. She had big plans for little Preston's adventures with Grandma. She would go out of her way to make them feel special and loved. She is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She made many memories with her nieces and nephews and was proud to be called Aunt Staci.Staci enjoyed receiving flowers.
