Shirley Walker, 87, of Big Spring, died on Friday, July 13, 2001, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 9:00 AM Monday, July 16, 2001, at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Mack Robinson, a nephew from Beeville, Texas, officiating. He was born on March 4, 1914 in Howard County, Texas and married Nannie Lee Tubb on April 28, 1931 in Coahoma, Texas. A life long resident of Howard County, Mr. Walker farmed for many years. He owned and operated Walker Tractor Co. from 1948 until retiring in 1992. He was an avid golfer. Mr. Walker was a member of First Baptist Church. He served as a Deacon for over 60 years and was a member of the Senior Choir. Survivors include his wife, Nannie Lee Walker of Big Spring; one daughter and son-in-law, Shirlene and Gorman Rainey of Big Spring; one son and daughter-in-law, Royce and Linda Walker of Big Spring; 6 grandchildren, Rex Rainey, Russ Rainey and wife, Janet, Kent Rainey and wife, Cherri, Doby Walker and wife, Kasi, Wendy Brown and husband, Cary, and Cole Walker and wife, Katie; 15 great grandchildren, Josh Rainey, Jordan Rainey, Jeremy Rainey, Clint Rainey, Jarrod Rainey, Taylor Rainey, Reagan Rainey, Kodi Walker, Kaci Beth Walker, Amber Fry, MaLinda Walker, Lindsey Brown, Weston Brown, Elizabeth Wheeler and Garrett Wheeler; and two sisters, Lillie Robinson of Midland and Stella Brooks of Big Spring. He was preceded in death by his parents, eight brothers and one sister. The family suggests memorials to: Howard County Bible Fund, % Carroll Kohl, 615 Colgate, Big Spring, Texas 79720.
