Shirley Scoggins, 84, of Stanton passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 14, 2018 at First United Methodist Church in Stanton with Pastor Charlie Stevens officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Gilbreath Funeral Home.Shirley was born March 17, 1934 in Abilene to Emma and Winfred Presley. She married Calvin Scoggins November 26, 1949 in Stanton. She was a retired Justice of the Peace in Martin County.Shirley is survived by a daughter, Barbara Beckman of Nevada, Missouri; a son, Leroy Scoggins of Stanton; a brother, Herschel Presley of Arlington; a sister, LaVerne McCarthy of Orlando, Florida; three grandsons, Kyle Beckman and Jimmy Beckman of Nevada, Missouri, and Phillip Scoggins of Midland; a granddaughter, Stephanie Scoggins of Stanton; six great-granddaughters; a great-grandson; and a great-great-grandson.She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Bobby; and a son, Roger.Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home.
