Shirley Jo Riddle-Warren, 91, of Big Spring, was reunited with her heavenly Father and her beloved husband on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. A woman of unwavering faith and deep devotion to her family, Shirley’s life was a testament to the grace and love she shared with everyone who knew her.
The family will receive friends for a public visitation on Friday, May 1, 2026, throughout the day at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, with the family present to greet guests starting at 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest alongside her sweetheart, Charles.
Shirley was born November 28, 1934, in Midland, Texas, to Bee and Mozelle Riddle. She grew up in Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School in 1952. Shirley was vibrant and involved in school, participating in the Latin Club, Student Council, Bible Club, and the Shorthand Club. She also served as a yell leader, a member of the Corral staff, and represented her school at Girls State.
She married the love of her life, Charles Oliver Warren, on May 28, 1954. Together, they began a journey of 61 years defined by partnership, ministry, and a shared commitment to their community. While Charles operated his dental practice, Shirley was the beating heart of the Warren home. Together, they raised four children, instilling in them the same firm belief in God and love for the Gospel that guided her own life. She was a constant source of encouragement, known for her gentle spirit, warm hospitality, and unwavering support.
Shirley was a long-time, active member of First Baptist Church. She was a dedicated voice in the church choir and found a special calling in the Bereavement Food Ministry, providing comfort and nourishment to families in their time of need. Outside of her service, she found great joy in the simple pleasures of life: cooking for those she loved, the quiet challenge of a jigsaw puzzle, and the warmth of Christian fellowship.
Shirley is survived by three of her children: Mike Warren and wife Regina, Mark Warren, Matt Warren and wife Tammi. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; her younger sister, Reba; countless other family and a community of lifelong friends who she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Charles Oliver Warren; her daughter, Lisa Warren; her parents; and one grandson, Luke Warren.
Flowers are welcome as a tribute to her memory.
