Shirley Clay, 62, of Stanton, died on Tuesday, December 16, 2008, in a Stanton hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Van Pendergrass minister of Downtown Church of Christ in Stanton, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday at Gilbreath Funeral Home.Shirley was born on September 21, 1946, in Big Spring, Texas. She was a longtime resident of Stanton and had worked as an office manager for TxDOT for over 20 years. Survivors include two sons, Shane Clay and Shandal Clay both of Stanton; one daughter, Shanna Helmer of Midland; one grandson, Nikki Williams and one brother, Roger Graves of Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Verbin and Faye Graves and one brother, Alfred Graves. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
