Our beloved mother, Nonie and Great Nonie joined our heavenly father and her waiting husband on Monday, April 28th, 2025. While she will be missed by those of us who loved her most, the heavenly hosts are singing her praises of welcome today.
Sharon was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1938, in McCamey, Texas to Marie (nee McElroy) and Curtis Choate as the Great Depression was coming to an end. She returned to McCamey with her own family in 1972. After both her sons, Craig and Greg, graduated high school in McCamey, Sharon, her husband Frank and their daughters Dana and Tracy moved to Robert Lee, Texas where she lived until her passing.
Sharon was one of the kindest people, beloved by her family and friends. Her compassion for all God’s children led her to pursue a nursing degree in San Angelo, Texas following her graduation from Big Spring High School. Marriage and motherhood intervened in her studies for a few decades, as she returned to complete her RN degree from Howard College in San Angelo after seeing all her children through their childhoods and graduation from High School. She enjoyed her second career as a nurse at various clinics and even the nursing home in Robert Lee where she spent her final days of life as a patient.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Curtis Choate, her older brother Jerry Choate and her husband of 49 years Frank Pearson. She is survived by her sister Dene Sheppard, her son Craig (Carolyn) Pearson of Midland, TX, their children Chelsea (Nathan) Johnston of Midland, TX, and Clayton (Carla) Pearson of Los Alamos, NM, her son Gregory (Lisa) Pearson of Livingston, TX, their children Alan (Ana) Pearson of Livingston, TX, and Regan (Jason) Riddle of Livingston, TX, her daughter Dana Pearson of Carlsbad, TX and her children Chris (Kadye) Eubanks of Greenwood, TX, Brian Eubanks of Salt Lake City, UT, and Aimee (Sam) Zimmerman of North Richland Hills, TX, and Sharon’s youngest daughter and devoted caregiver Tracy Grantham of Robert Lee, TX and her children Haley Grantham and Megan Grantham, both of San Angelo, TX. Sharon’s great grandchildren are Kaelyn Eubanks, Kelty Eubanks, Ember Eubanks and Zoey Eubanks, Caroline Johnston, Cooper Johnston and Caleb Johnston, Colter Pearson, Callie Pearson and Cody Pearson, Hadley Weigand and Brooklyn Weigand, and Aaron Rodriguez, Hailey Collier, and Austin Pearson.
Sharon lived a blessed life, married to a man who adored her, her lord and savior Jesus Christ, her four children, nine grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren, all of whom Sharon loved with all her heart. She saw Americans land on the moon, traveled to amazing places like Yellowstone National Park and her favorite Ireland, and loved her Dallas Cowboys through thick and thin. She will be missed.
Donations in-lieu of flowers can be made to Hospice of San Angelo, 933 University Ave, San Angelo, TX 76904 or Friends of the Robert Lee Care Center, P.O. Box 1209, Robert Lee, TX 76945.
