Sharon Lechon (56) of Conroe, TX passed on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at the Houston United Methodist Hospital. Sharon was born in Arkansas on April 10, 1967. Her family moved to Midland, TX where Sharon enjoyed the role as eldest sister of her two brothers, David and Darren, and younger sister, Linda. The responsibility that comes with being the eldest sibling helped Sharon develop the leadership skills and nurturing nature that she would come to be known for in both her personal and professional life.
After graduating from Midland High School in 1985, Sharon moved to Dallas where she started down the path that would eventually lead her to building her own company, COINS, which would grow to include a team of 15 people. Recognizing the need for women-owned services within the AEC industry, Sharon, along with a business partner, started EDGE Global Technology Solution, one of the first women-owned businesses focused on Virtual Design and Construction. In 2019, Sharon was recognized for Changing the Face of Construction by the Women Builders Council, WBCNYC. She remained as CEO/President of EDGE until her passing.
Owning EDGE would take Sharon to Rochester, NY in 2010 where she remained until moving back to Texas in 2020. Despite a very busy work schedule, Sharon still found time to volunteer within the local Rochester, NY community at St. Joseph’s Hospital and with one of her favorite organizations, the Love For Kids foundation. In Conroe, TX, she was an active member of her community’s HOA, heading up efforts to develop a park for the neighborhood’s children.
Sharon’s drive, passion, dedication, and love for her family, friends, co-workers and community will never be forgotten. She was a true pioneer in the AEC industry and a loving mother, sister, colleague, and friend.
Sharon is survived by her sons, Noble Haile of Ocala, FL and Ashton Lechon of Conroe, TX, her two brothers, David and Darren Clemons, and sister, Linda Marlowe of Midland, TX. She is predeceased by her mother and father, Charlotte and Lonnie Clemons.
A dual memorial for Sharon and her mother, Charlotte, is being planned for June 24th at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Love For Kids, Inc.
