Sharon L. Carter, 48, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at her residence. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Midway Baptist Church. She was born on June 4, 1962, in French Camp, California and followed her family to Texas, moving to Big Spring in 2005. Sharon worked at Denny's and then went to work at the Big Spring State Hospital where she became a supervisor over the APS Female Unit. Sharon loved hunting for arrowheads and target shooting and had just started drawing and painting. She was a compassionate person and touched many hearts. She will be greatly missed.Survivors include her fiance, Harry Vela of Big Spring; her daughter, Sonya Carter of Los Angeles, California; her brother, Adrain Arduini of Hayward, California; her mother, Diana Howell of Gatesville; her uncle, Steve Howell of Los Angeles, California and her dog, Bonnie.She was preceded in death by her father, Bruno Arduini. Sharon started working the night shift with me at the state hospital. I just enjoyed working with her, loved her stories that she would tell about California and how much she loved her daughter. Sharon is and will always be an amazing woman! She was always willing to help anyone out even if it was her last dollar in her pocket she would give it to others in need. She will be missed!
