Senior Airman John W. Brummett, 25, of Vealmoor, died on Sunday, June 6, 2004, in Warrensburg, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Rev. Clifton Igo of Lamesa, officiating. Interment will follow at the Vealmoor Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM Friday, at the funeral home.He was born on February 15, 1979 in Big Spring. John was a 1998 graduate of Borden County High School where he was a member of the FFA and 4H and showed steers at stock shows. He was a member of the football and basketball teams. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, ranch work, and bar-b-que cookouts with friends and family.He enlisted in the United States Air Force in April of 2000, serving with the Air Ground Equipment Unit.He was a Baptist.Survivors include his parents, Audry and Debbie Brummett of Vealmoor; one sister, Sandy Miller of Lenorah; one nephew, Kelby Miller of Lenorah and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.He was preceeded in death by his grandparents, C. B., Jr. and Jean Brummett, his great-grandparents, C.B. and Martha Brummett, and W. O., Jr. and Evelyn Maxwell.The family suggests memorials to the Borden County EMT, Gail, Texas 79738.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
