Scott Leo Kenney

Scott Leo Kenney, 63, of Midland, Texas, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on September 19, 2026.

Born on May 11, 1963, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Gil and Ruth Kenney, Scott lived a life rooted in faith, family, friendship, and hard work. He was known for his generous spirit, infectious laugh, and gift for making everyone feel welcome. Scott never met a stranger and had a special way of turning friends into family.

Scott married the love of his life, Kelly Louise Stanley, and together they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, friendship, and unconditional love. They were truly best friends, sharing countless laughs, prayer walks, and a deep love for God that shaped their marriage and family.

Together, they made their home in Midland and raised their three children, Addison, Alli, and Quinn. Nothing brought Scott greater joy than being a husband, father, and later, a grandfather. He was his family’s biggest supporter, steady guide, and constant source of encouragement. Through his words and example, he taught the values of faith, hard work, kindness, and integrity. His love was constant, his support unwavering, and the impact he made on his family will be felt for generations to come.

Known affectionately as “Pops,” Scott shared a special bond with his grandchildren. Whether taking them on adventures, sneaking them an extra treat, or simply making them laugh, he made each one feel deeply loved. Wynne, Lottie, Harris, and Kelly were among his greatest blessings and brought him immeasurable joy.

Scott was a devoted Texas Tech Red Raiders fan and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. He loved gathering family and friends around a table filled with good food, great stories, and plenty of laughter. Some of his happiest moments were spent simply enjoying the people he loved most.

Above all, Scott’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. He loved the Lord deeply and sought to reflect that faith in the way he loved, served, and encouraged those around him. He was grateful for the friendships and fellowship he and Kelly found at One Hope Church of Christ, where they built cherished relationships and lasting memories.

Scott is survived by his loving wife, Kelly Kenney; his son, Addison Kenney and wife MacKenzie, and their children, Wynne and Lottie; his daughter, Alli Diliberto and husband Farrell, and their children, Harris and Kelly; his son, Quinn Kenney and wife Faith; his mother, Ruth Kenney; his brother, Chris Kenney and wife Johanna; his sister, Katherine Pepper and husband Randy; his mother-in-law, Dolores Stanley; his sister-in-law, Linda Weir and husband Terry; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gil Kenney, and his father-in-law, Marcus Stanley.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at One Hope Church of Christ in Midland, Texas. In keeping with Scott’s personality, the gathering will be informal and come-and-go, giving family and friends an opportunity to share stories, celebrate his life, and remember the joy he brought to so many. Flowers may be sent to One Hope Church of Christ.

Scott will be remembered for his steadfast faith, generous heart, and deep love for his family and friends. While he will be greatly missed, his legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the example he set. Those who loved him will honor his memory by loving well, serving others, and embracing each day with gratitude and joy.
