Sarah Ann McBrayer

Sarah Ann McBrayer, 93, entered into eternal peace on Monday, March 12, 2018, at the Midland, TX, Senior Care Center. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 16, 2018, at Resthaven Cemetery in Midland, TX, with pastor Melissa Shuler of First Methodist Church officiating.Sarah was born on September 26, 1924, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. James H. Barnebee. She primarily grew up in Kalamazoo, MI, before moving to the Texas valley and graduating from La Joya High School. Formal education took her to Temple, TX, where she attended Scott and White Nursing School. Sarah loved being a registered nurse and reflected this devotion through her compassionate bedside manner.On July 23, 1949, Sarah married the late Tom B McBrayer who was an engineer and manager for various oil companies. They were married a few months short of 50 years. Her interests included family, sewing, traveling, and reading. She was a homemaker much of her adult life but later returned to her nursing career.Mrs. McBrayer is survived by her children and their spouses Tommie and Lydia McBrayer, Scott and Sylvia McBrayer, Randy and Holly Brewer, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, March 16, 2018, at Resthaven Memorial Park, Midland, Texas under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.,
