Santos Faye Wilson, 90, of Big Spring, died on Thursday, August 24, 2006, in an Odessa hospital. A vigil service will be held Sunday August 27, 2006 at 6:30 PM at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, August 28, 2006 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Rev. James Plagens, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park. She was born on March 4, 1916, in Harlingen, Texas and married Harrison Ray Wilson on May 6, 1960 in Harlingen, Texas. He preceded her in death.Mrs. Wilson was raised in Harlingen. She was trained by the Army Air Corps during World War II to serve in the Women's Defense Corps. She trained in Harlingen to be a midwife and served in that capacity for over forty years. Mrs. Wilson was a babysitter for her family and many friends. She moved to Big Spring in 1972 from Austin.She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church.Survivors include two daughters, Grace Chavez and Mary Lou Wilson both of Big Spring; one son, Roberto Gonzalez of McAllen; one brother, D.C. "Nicho" Pena of Combs; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, and one great grandchild.
