Sandra Jean "Jaure" Way, 64, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, March 8, 2009, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, March 12, 2009 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Ulis Johnson, officiating. She was born on November 19, 1944, in Jacksonville, Florida. Sandra lived in Big Spring from 1954 to 1957 when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico. She returned to Big Spring in 1970 and worked at the Big Spring State Hospital until retiring in 1998. She worked in administration for Comanche Flats from 1998 to 2003 and had been a nurse consultant for them from 1992 until January 2008. Sandra was a devoted mother, grandmother and Nana. She loved music and collected a lot of music over the years. She was a loving Christian who loved her Lord and lived to honor Him. Survivors include one daughter, Debra Smith of Junction City, Kansas; two sons, Arthur Baty of Junction City, Kansas and, Jose "Joe" Jaure, Jr. of Lancaster; 13 sisters, Barbara Davis and Sharon Williams both of Big Spring, Jacqueline Flint of Abilene, Hope, Jennifer and Mary all of Florida, Cecilia Ryan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Cynethia Hunter of Irving, Marsha Way of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Danis Humphrey of Lancaster, Deborah Ealy of Redlands, California, Delores Porter of San Bernadino, California and Faith Kinsey of Colorado; 4 brothers, Earlis Way, Jr. of Waco, Michael Way and Morris Way both of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Allen Way of Washington; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Genio Baty. The family suggests memorials to a favorite charity.
