Samuel Walker Orr went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 17, 2013 at the age of 57. He was born on March 26, 1956 in Pecos, Texas. He moved to Midland in elementary school and graduated from Midland High School in 1974. He became a proud father in 1976 and again in 1982. He was a successful businessman in the early 80s and was very proud of his company Orr Investments. He moved to Montana in the mid 80s and worked in car sales. He met his devoted wife, Dee Ann, in 1993. They got married in 2000. Sam became a grandfather in 2003. This drew him back to his home state of Texas. PaPa Sam had more grandkids in 2007, 2008, and 2012. Sam enjoyed golfing, flying, hunting, and making people laugh. His sense of humor was one of his best qualities. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother, Delores Walker of Midland; his father and stepmother, Clyde and Gaby Orr of Rexford, Montana; his wife, Dee Ann Orr of Midland; his kids Landi Roark and Tye Orr of Midland; his son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Ian Roark and Whitney Orr; and his grandkids, Malone Roark, Gavin Roark, Logan Orr, and Ali Orr; his brother, Tom Walker and his family of Garland, Texas; numerous aunts, an uncle, and cousins; and his loving Jack-Russell Terrier, Spud. Sam stated, The most important thing to me is my family.Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, June 21, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland. The family suggests memorial donations be made to American Diabetes Association, 3001 N Big Spring ST, STE 104, Midland, TX 79705.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Sam was a wonderful cousin that could see humor in everything! Such a joyful soul. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our prayers are with his family.

My prayers are with the Family, I have many of memories growing up with Sammy and they will never be forgotten.

Even in his worst state, Sam's sense of humor cracked everyone up. I will always remember that. His joy is even greater now as he is with the LORD. One day soon, we will all be together without the burdens of this world, enjoying the best in everyone. What a gracious and merciful God to give us this blessed hope. Thank God our salvation is based on what Jesus did, not on what we are able (or not able) to do. Sam knew this and told me he believed this about 8 years ago so I feel confident we believers will see him again. As God's word tells us.... For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall NOT perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to SAVE the world through him. Whoever believes in him is NOT condemned... John 3:16-18 ... for ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Jesus Christ (this redemption is not something we in and of ourselves can obtain)... Romans 3:23-24 ... if you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you WILL be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Romans 10:9-10Sam had his struggles, we have our struggles, but God can redeem us in our sinful state in his mighty power through Jesus Christ. Sam would love nothing more than to see you in heaven. May you hear, believe, and receive this free gift of God's grace! Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. Hebrews 11:11 Thessalonians 4:13-18

Dad aka PaPa Sam,We will miss your funny jokes and the way you could always make us laugh no matter what!! You were a very special person and know you will be greatly missed. We love you! Landi, Ian, Malone, and Gavin
