Samuel Glen Pardue went home to the Lord on Thursday, October 12, 2006. Glen was born on June 12, 1948 in Jonesboro, Louisiana to Howell and Maxine Pardue. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel in Stanton with Rev. David Harp pastor of First Baptist Church Stanton officiating. Glen is survived by his wife, Gail, of Stanton; daughter Lori, of Colorado City, and her husband Doug Shoemate and their daughter Maddie; daughter Aimee, of Stanton, and her husband Heath North and their daughters Payden and Tatum; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Winfred and Jeanne Pardue, of Midland, and Bill and Connie Pardue, of Stanton; one sister, Nanette Pierce, of Stanton; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howell and Maxine Pardue of Stanton. The details that the family wants remembered begin with Glen meeting Gail Wilson in 1970 and were married on February 11, 1970. That circle of love expanded to their two daughters (Lori and Aimee), their two sons-in-law (Doug and Heath), and their three grandchildren who were the lights of his life (Maddie, Payden, and Tatum). We meet a lot of people in the course of life and a few impact us with their goodness. Glen was such a person. He was hard-working guy who loved to build and fix things, and he had a talent for it. Glen was self-employed as a maintenance man and heavy-equipment mechanic. He was Papa the Builder to not only his girls, Maddie, Payden, & Tatum, but also to his great-niece Amelia. His big heart extended to family, friends, and anyone in need. A family friend said that Glen was the type of person who would give you the shirt off of his back and then help you put it on. For those who knew him, there is no question that his love for others was unconditional. He will be greatly missed. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Midland, PO Box 2126, Midland, TX 79702. We extend a special thank you to Glen's hospice nurse, Jacklyn Denson.
