Sammie Bustamante, Sr., 62, of Midland passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2016. The family will be accepting guests from 5:00pm-7:00pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Sammie was born on February 28, 1953 in Barstow, Texas to Ralph and Anita Bustamante. He graduated from Midland High School with the Class of 1972. Sammie honorably served in the United States Army and was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas. He was married to the love of his life, Arcelia Cruz Bustamante, for 43 years. He worked with the Social Security Administration for 27 years, but was a federal employee for over 30 years. Sammie was an outdoorsman and was an avid, successful fisherman. He loved spending his free time boating and barbequing with all of his friends and family. One of his greatest traits was his dependability and need to help others. Sammie’s favorite hobby was spending time spoiling and playing with his grandchildren. His smile could make a bad day better. He will be incredibly missed by his entire family and numerous friends.Preceding him in death is his father, Ralph Bustamante.He is lovingly survived by his wife, Arcelia Bustamante; son, Sammie Bustamante II and wife, Fabiola; granddaughter, Samantha Bustamante; grandson, Mateo Bustamante; grandson, Isaac Flores; mother, Anita Bustamante; brother, Ralph Bustamante, Jr; brother, Ray Bustamante; brother, George Bustamante; sister, Rosella Rosella Drapiza; sister, Rebecca Villanueva; and numerous friends.The family would like to express their sincere gratitude towards their closest friends, extended family, and his second family of the Social Security Administration for all of their love and support.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
