Sadie Chesson Russell, 84, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, September 3, 2006, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at the Coahoma Cemetery with Rev. Elwin Collom, pastor of Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating.She was born on February 1, 1922 in Mermentau, Louisiana to Enos and Josephine Chesson. She married Edwin R. Rusty" Russell on December 21, 1941 in Orange, Texas and he preceded her in death on July 18, 1997.Sadie came to Coahoma in September 1993 from Vinton, Louisiana. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, camping, fishing and family barbeques. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pat and DelRoy Buchanan of Coahoma, Wanda and Ralph Barr of Siloam Springs, Arkansas and Sandra Boadle of Peyton, Colorado; one son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sandi Russell of Lake Charles, Louisiana; nine grandchildren, Rory Buchanan, LaRhonda Stanley, Eric Owens, Daniele Miller, Angie Barr, Michael Barr, Brian Barr, Letti Russell and Leah Alexander; fourteen great grandchildren, Kaylon Stanley, Kay'C Stanley, Kaleb Stanley, Brandi Buchanan, Britni Buchanan, Keigan Miller, Kalli Jade Owens, Hannah Russell, Garret Alexander, Joshua Barr, Courtney Barr, Levi Willis, Alisha Willis and Tori Willis and numerous nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and two sisters.The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimers Association, Greater West Texas Chapter, 4400 North Big Spring, Suite 32, Midland, Texas 79705 or the American Diabetes Association, 10 Desta Drive, Suite 22E, Midland, Texas 79705.
