Ruth L. Taylor, 81, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, May 17, 2006, at the Home Hospice House of Odessa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 20, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Randy Cotton, officiating. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.She was born on October 23, 1924, in Scurry County. She married J.T. Walton and he preceded her in death. She then married San Elmo Taylor in 1971 in Odessa and he preceded her in death on April 17, 1978.She was a longtime resident of Big Spring and had worked at Nichols Laundry and College Laundry as an attendent for many years.She was a Baptist.Survivors include one daughter, Judy Gardner and one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Juanita Walton, all of Big Spring; eight grandchidren, including Shoni Hildebrand, Steve Hildebrand, Cynthia Gene Moran, and Sandy Shieke, all of Big Spring; numerous great grandchildren, including Krista Bounds and Hannah Head, both of Big Spring; and two sisters, Betty Jo Carey of Big Spring, and Frances McDowell of Cleveland, Texas.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
