Ruth Hazlewood, 88, of Fredricksburg, formerly of Stanton, died on Friday, July 20, 2001 Fredericksburg, Virginia. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Valhalla Mausoleum Chapel with Jim Pope, officiating. She was born on March 16, 1913 in Mt. Vernon, Texas and married Roscoe Hazlewood on June 1, 1935 in Midland, Texas. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1983. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Ruth came to Stanton at the age of 18 from Mt. Vernon. She was a school teacher, a homemaker and a loving mother. Survivors include her daughter, and son-in-law, Ingrid and Robert Cowan of Fredricksburg, Virginia; a granddaughter and her husband, Angie and Steven Hildreth of Tuscon, Arizona; a grandson and his wife, Jamie and Mandi Williamson of Dequeen, Arkansas; a great-grandson, Samuel Hildreth of Tuscon, Arizona; a sister-in-law, Obera Angel of Stanton; a brother-in-law, Loyce Hazlewood of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
