Ruby Inez Dyer Bearden, 88, of Big Spring, died on Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at her residence surrounded by her four children. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 22, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Big Spring, with Rev. Elwin Collom, Home Hospice chaplain, officiating and her grandsons, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.She was born on October 22, 1917, in Parker County, Texas and married J. C. Bearden on November 30, 1935 in Dawson County. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1983.A longtime resident of Ackerly and Big Spring, she was a homemaker.Inez was a much loved volunteer of Big Spring RSVP. In the 21 years and 7 months that she volunteered, she touched many lives and was always looking for ways to help others. She served with the S.W.A.T. (Seniors With Available Time) team to help promote RSVP in the community. Inez volunteered at the City of Big Spring with EMS Department for 10 years and kept the City Scrapbook for 6 years. She had the distinction of being the individual who raised the most money for the Alzheimer's Memory Walk for 4 years. Inez was a Spring City Stompers line dancer and entertained at nursing homes at senior activities for more that 8 years. She also worked with the children in the Kid's Klub at her church, the "Read to Me" summer reading program and sewed tote bags for the "Learning Kit" program to benefit children of incarcerated parents. Inez was a wonderful seamstress; she used her talent to sew hundreds of "Pillow Pals" for patients at the Big Spring State Hospital. Her last major volunteer venture was to deliver meals for the Mobile Meals program. She drove every Tuesday morning for more that 2 years. Big Spring RSVP is richer for having a loving, caring volunteer like Inez and she will be missed. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Big Spring.Survivors include two sons, Derrell Bearden and wife, Sandra of Ackerly and David Bearden and wife, Rebecca of Houston; two daughters, Faye Noll and husband, Stanley of Havana, Illinois and Janice Walton and husband, Raymond of Stanton; nine grandchildren, Leland Bearden and wife, Stacey, Melinda Rainwater and husband, Carlos, Wayne Noll and wife, Cindy, Sherry Gibson and husband, Kevin, Steve Walton and wife, Georgeann, Gary Walton, David Bearden, Jr. and wife, Trish, Sarah Smith and husband, Thadd and Gabriel Bearden and wife, Caren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a grandchild, Jessica Bearden; one brother and four sisters.
