Ruby Helen Turner of Big Spring died on Saturday, January 1, 2005, in her home. The memorial service will be held on Wednessday, January 5, 2005 beginning at 10:00 AM at the 14th & Main Street Church of Christ with Rick Cunningham, minister, officiating.She was born of May 6, 1929 in Desdemona, Texas to Charles T. and Zella Thorp Lindley. In 1933 the family moved to Coahoma during the early oil boom days of Howard County. She attended Coahoma schools and graduated as the Salutatorian of her class.She married the love of her life, Clyde Dennis Turner on November 5, 1947 at the 14th & Main Street Church of Christ. Aftere spending the first decade of their marriage in Coahoma, they moved to Big Spring in 1958. He preceded her in death on February 27, 1988. He spent a lifetime in the oil business of Howard County and she was a domestic engineer.In every role she held in life she was devoted to the people she loved. She loved her community and appreciated the friendships established through the years.Survivors include her three children, Gary Turner and wife, Ronda, of Horseshoe Bay, Cheryl and husband, John Richard Sparks of Big Spring, Jay Turner of Horseshoe Bay and Laura Turner of Big Spring; six grandchildren, Matthew of Austin, Lindley and husband, Cody, of Horseshoe Bay, Courtnee and husband, Brandon, of Big Spring, J. Rich of Big Spring, Casey and wife, Melissa, of Granite Shoals and Carla and husband, Cory, of Round Rock; eight great grandchildren including, Emma of Big Spring and Braxton of Horseshoe Bay; four sisters, Dorothy Baker of Coahoma, Charlene Walker of Fort Worth, Bonnie Lindley of Carrollton, Dolores and Marcus Stanley of Midland and sister-in-law, Emma Lou Lindley of Tulsa and their families; three brothers-in-law, Jim Turner of Levelland, Johnny Bob Turner of Benjamin, Bill Turner of Levelland and their families; four sisters-in-law, Dorothy Young and Emma Lee Chapman of Sulphur Springs, Sue Sheedy of Benjamin, Mary Jo Stokes of Burleson and their families; special friends, Mary and Cruz Rodriguez and their children; pet, Faxon and many lifetime friends.She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ralph; mother of her grandchildren, Ann; several brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces and pet, Tobie.Memorial donations may be made to the C.
