Ruby Faye Roberts Lewis, 80, of Big Spring, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013, in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rick Cunningham, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, August 23, 2013 at the funeral home.She was born March 7, 1933, on a farm near Knott, Texas and married Lawrence Ray Lewis July 13, 1952 in Knott, Texas.Ruby was known for her canning, amazing pumpkin custard and ability to overcome any obstacle. Ruby and Lawrence Ray were members of 14th & Main Church of Christ.Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Ray Lewis of Big Spring; three sons; Lawrence Ray Lewis Jr. and wife, Emma of Big Spring, Russel Lewis and wife, Teresa of Wichita, Kansas, and Randall Lewis of Hobbs, New Mexico; three sisters, Hazel Shockley, Evelyn Holcomb and Lillie Hendricks; seven grandchildren, Taylor Lewis and wife, Sara, Katherine Lewis, Rebekah Lewis, Devon Lewis, Owen Lewis, Brian Aguilar and Eric Aguilar and six great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, Lemuel and Ida May Roberts and a sister, Zada Shockley.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
