Roy N. Cook, Sr., 76 of Midland, died on Tuesday, October 22, 2002, at his residence. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2002 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel Midland with Dr. Gary Dyer pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating. He was born on August 11, 1926, in Dallas, Texas and married Sharon A. Mayfield on July 30, 1994 in Midland, Texas. He worked in the Midland-Odessa area for a number of years and made his permanent home in Midland in January 1994. He was a member of Methodist Church. Mr. Cook was a veteran of World War II in the United States Navy and had received a Victory medal, American Area medal and Asiatic medal. He had served on the USS Protens, which was one of the first submarine tenders to land on Japanese soil at Yokosuka. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Southside Lodge #1114 in Ft. Worth, Texas.Survivors include his wife; Sharon A. Cook of Midland, one son; Roy N. Cook, Jr. of Houston, three daughters; Kelly Cook of Cypress, Texas, Tracy Cook of Cypress, Texas, Joyce Jacob of Plano, Texas, one step son; Jimmy L. Williams of Anaheim Hills, California, one step daughter; Debbie Maddon of New Braunfels, his mother in law; Clara M. Carter of Midland, one sister; Betty Bart of Spring, and seven grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, George E.
