Roy Don Moon, 23, of Midland, died on Friday, October 9, 2009, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland.He was born on May 28, 1986, in Odessa, to Randall and Darla Stolte Moon and was a lifelong resident of Midland.Roy was a comedian that loved to laugh. He liked spending time with, protecting and helping his friends and family. He loved watching movies, playing video games and was a great dancer and philosopher. Roy also loved history and was a great cook, in which he was working towards becoming a chef and earning his GED from Midland College, and planning on joining the United States Army. He was a loving and devoted fiancé, son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin. He loved his animals. He was a member of Jesus Way House of Prayer.Survivors include his mother, Darla Moon of Midland; his fiancé, Brandi Winn; three sisters, Sherry Moon and Nick Gryder of Odessa, Crystal Aldurete and husband Daniel of Midland and Amanda Fourcher of Albuquerque; maternal grandparents, Donald and Sherry Stolte of Payson, Illinois; paternal grandfather, J.B. Moon of Odessa; grandmother, Mary LaFoy; two uncles, Donald Stolte and wife Julie of Houston and Gary Moon of Odessa; two aunts Dinah Bounds of Kansas City, Missouri and Melissa Brookshire and husband Steve of Odessa; his great aunt Molley Pettey and her husband, David, and his cousin, Sarah of Odessa; a niece Aaliya Aldurete and nephew Jaeden Moon, both of Midland; and numerous nieces and nephews.Roy was preceded in death by his father, Randall Moon; his uncle, Hilton Moon; and his grandmother, Evie Moon.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
