Roy Conley “RC” Johnson Sr, 83, of Midland, Texas, formerly of Big Spring, Texas, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. He was born to the late Will and Izell Bledsoe Johnson on December 24, 1942, in Smithville, Texas.
Roy grew up in Big Spring where he attended Lakeview School and graduated from Big Spring High School. He was a member of West Highway 80 Church of Christ.
Roy is survived by his daughters, Orvetta Morris of Midland, Texas, Tamicka (Shawn) Johnson of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sons, Roy Johnson Jr of Palmdale, California, Anthony (Chalawn) Johnson of Los Angeles, California and Andre (Vanessa) Johnson Sr of Compton, California; his brother, Ulis Johnson of Big Spring, Texas; his sisters, Willene Knox of Big Spring, Jennie Johnson of Odessa, Texas, and Izell “Twinkle” White of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; eighteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert, Melvin and Fredrick Johnson; his sister, Charles Johnson Green and his son-in-law, David Morris Sr.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at West Highway 80 Church of Christ in Big Spring.
