Roy G. Billings, 61, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2008, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, June 20, 2008 at the Trinity Memorial Park Peace Chapel with Derrick Looney, pastor of Forsan Baptist Church officiating.He was born on January 4, 1947, in Big Spring, Texas.Mr. Billings was a lifetime resident of Big Spring and graduated from Big Spring High School. He was working at Walmart at the time of his death. Roy was loved and respected by his fellow employees and customers of Walmart. He was a devoted son and took care of his mother, Elsie for many years before her death. He was a Methodist.Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Mandy Billings of LaVergne, Tennesee and an expected granddaughter, one sister and brother-in-law, Pat and Lonnie Taylor of Ackerly; and nieces, Laurie and husband, Lance Reed of Canyon, and Missy and Coy Irwin of Andrews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Elsie Billings.The family suggests memorials be made to the donor's favorite charity.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring. Pat, I was so sorry to read about Roy. I just happened on the write-up today. I will keep your family in my prayers for the coming days.

Our condolances on Roy's passing. We worked with Roy in the 80's - he was a unique individual.

We went to Runnels Jr. High together and shared many memories and laughter. Roy was always a delight to be around and will be missed my his family and many friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to each family during this very difficult time. Try to go back and remember the wonderful memories you made with him. God bless.

Very sorry to hear of Roy's passing. Even though I had not seen him since we were young, there are pleasant lifetime memories of going with my parents to visit Grant and Elsie and getting to see Pat and Roy. Their home was always warm and inviting.

Roy though I only knew you for a short time you have left a definite impression on my heart. I will forever cherish the conversations we had while on break. Thanks for everything. John

Neal knew Roy from school and they always spoke to each other at Wal-Mart. I didn't realize he was your brother. You and I met in school and Roy and Neal...thought that was neat to learn. We have you and your family in our prayers.

I am so very sorry to hear of Roy's passing. I first met Roy in grade school and we knew each other throughout Jr. High and then I moved to Lubbock. I have many memories of him in our younger years. My sympathy to his family at this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I grew up living just a few blocks from Roy, going to school with him from elementary through High School. Enjoyed knowing him during those years. Too bad I wasn't fortunate enough to know him after leaving high school.

We were saddened to hear of Roy's passing. Lot of good memories from our school days.
