Rowena Barber, 89, of Midland passed away on January 28, 2019. Services will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00AM at True- Lite Christian Fellowship Church.Rowena was born on September 28, 1929 in Bastrop, TX to Richard & Susie Higgins. On January 31, 1963 Rowena was wed to Jack Barber in Bastrop, TX. Rowena worked at Belvue Restaurant and Stanton Nursing Home for many years. She attended True-Lite Christian Fellowship faithfully until her health would not allow her to. Rowena’s hobbies were coloring, playing bingo and spending time with family.Rowena is survived by her son John (Irene) Higgins of Midland, daughter Shirley Henry of Midland, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.She’s preceded in death by her parents, Richard & Susie Higgins, and husband, Jack Barber.The family would like to express their gratitude towards Terrace West Nursing & Rehabilitation, Hospice of West Texas, True-Lite Christian Fellowship church family as well as family and friends for expressions of sympathy, prayers and acts of kindness.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
