Rosine Frances CashOn September 18th, 2006, Rosine Frances Cash passed away. She was the mother of Midlander Karen Mendoza. Rosine was 94 years old. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel, 3800 N. Big Spring in Midland. Rosines body will lie in state Saturday, September 23 at the funeral home.Rosine was born July 27th, 1912 in Scottsburg, Indiana. She was the 4th of 6 children of her parents, John and Edna Bixler. Rosine was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver, a granddaughter, Melissa, her eldest son, Rudy, 3 brothers, Ervin, Herbert and Johnny, a sister, Creta and her parents, John and Edna.Rosine was a waitress for fifty years and retired when she was 71 years old. Rosine lived in Illinois and then moved to California in 1959. From 1960 until her death, Rosine collected cook books, mainly ones from different charities. She resided in California until 1995, when she and Oliver moved to Illinois and lived with her oldest son. In 2001, Rosine came to Midland to live with her youngest daughter. Rosine would spend summers in Illinois with 2 of her children and then in California with her son.Rosine leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jerry and his wife, Carol of Illinois; her daughter, Rosine and her friend, Sven of Illinois; her daughter, Karen and her husband, David of Midland; her sister, Alma Mae Manthei of California; 23 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.Karen wants her grandson, David to know that he took very good care of his Great-grandmother. She would also like to thank Hospice of Midland (Ann, Sheila, Charley, Yolanda and the guys) and Dr. P.K. Patel and his staff for their help and being her moms doctor. Thank you to Stacy Lynn Wade for helping take care of Rosine for the last month.Our Mom was always there for us.
